SMGA Club Championship -  Individual Stroke Play

Date: Oct 22 - 23 2024

Time: Tee times to be by flights starting at 8:00.

Rules: Individual stroke play flighted by handicap including at least one flight for Super Seniors . Super Seniors must be on the approved Silver Tee list prior to the tournament . Silver tee players can compete in the regular flights, by declaring their intention with an email to tee times. They must play from the gold tees and play 36 holes if they choose to play in the regular flights. Tournament will be 18 holes on day 1 and day 2 except Super Seniors will play only 9 holes on day 2. A minimum of 4 players is required for a Super Senior flight which will have its own awards and payouts but the flight is not eligible for the Club Championship.
The SMGA Club Championship shall be open to all SMGA members in good standing at the time the tournament is conducted. Once entries reach the predetermined field size, a waiting list will be created. If cancellations are received, names on the wait list at the time of cancellation will be prioritized for entry into the tournament based on the most frequent participants in SMGA playdays. Ties will be decided by lot. Tee lists will be provided by email the day before play and will also be available on Golf Genius.
Dropping Zones (DZ): Choctaw #2 - For a ball that is in the penalty area the player may proceed under Rule 17 or as an option, drop a ball in the DZ under penalty of one stroke. Seminole #2 - For a ball that is in the LEFT penalty area the player may proceed under Rule 17. or as an option, drop a ball in the DZ under penalty of one stroke.

USGA and local rules will be in effect.

Handicap: 100%

Tees: All play will be from gold tees unless Super Seniors request silver tees per rules above.

Scoring: Record gross score on the scorecard provided and in Golf Genius. Handicaps will be applied by Golf Genius. Only one player in each group should enter scores in Golf Genius.
All strokes must be counted. No picking up after net double bogey, and all putts must be holed out. If you pick up prior to putting out, you are subject to disqualification unless you replace the ball, finish, and take a penalty stroke for picking up.

Entry Fee: $60 + cart will be billed to your account. Box lunch is included for day 1.

Meal: Awards dinner will be held the evening of day 2 of the tournament for each player and a guest, if requested, and will be billed directly to the players. Make entree choices from below when registering.

Field Size Limit: 84

Payouts: Based on total scores for the 2 days, a trophy and Pro Shop credit will be awarded for Club Champion (low net), Club Medalist (low gross), and the Super Senior flight low net winner. More Pro Shop credits in all flights.

Ties: Ties for low gross and low net Champion will play sudden death immediately. Ties within flights for first place only will be broken by hole by hole low net per scoring beginning with last hole of play. Others to be shared.

Conditions: If we are driving on the course, play the ball down. If we are cart path only, lift, clean, and place within one club length, no closer to the hole, and in your own fairway.

Extra Info: Dining room opens at 6 Wednesday, dinner begins at 7. Men please wear jackets.
Dinner choices:
  • Filet mignon topped with herbed butter, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, and roasted carrots.($45)
  • Pan seared Chicken,topped with bacon Maple glaze,savory mashed sweet potatoes,& French green beans ($32)
  • Blackened Grouper with lemon buerre blanc,Saffron rice, and grilled asparagus.($32)
Dinner salad.
Dessert. Warm Chocolate brownie with ice cream.
The usual service charge and tax will be added to menu pricing.
